Career in International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the scientific study of interactions between sovereign states. It examines all activities between states—such as war, diplomacy, trade, and foreign policy as well as relations with  intergovernmental organisations (IGOs), international nongovernmental organisations (INGOs), international legal bodies, and multinational corporations (MNCs).

International relations is widely considered as one of the major subdisciplines of political science, along with comparative politics and political theory. However, in addition to political science, it draws considerably from international economics, law, and world history.

Here are various career options for those interested in International Relations field.

  1.  Diplomat - Maintaining good relations between countries. As a diplomat, you will represent and protect a nation's interests abroad in terms of politics, trade and consular services. You’ll spend usually around three years in a foreign country. Some of your responsibilities will be:
    • Act as a link between the country you represent and the country where you are stationed.
    • Collect and report on all the information that would affect your nation’s interests.
    • Discuss, negotiate and mediate with the local government issues about peace and war, trade, commerce, economics, as well as social and cultural aspects.
    • Check out a selection of international Master's degrees in Diplomacy.
  2. Intelligence Specialist - Gathering state-critical information - As an intelligence specialist, you can work in the military, the navy, national security departments, or almost any state department of one of the national government agencies. Your main duties will include:
    • Collect and analyse operational intelligence data
    • Create mission reports, using data, maps and charts
    • Evaluate results and prepare reports, statistics and graphics
    • Maintain intelligence databases, libraries, and files
  3. Political Analyst - Explaining the political climate, Generally, you’ll be employed by the government, but you can also find work opportunities within media companies or research institutes. Your tasks will be to:
    •  Inform about and interpret various political developments
    • Analyse laws, public policies, and government decisions
    • Advise government officials, political parties, or the media
    • Forecast political trends and election results
    • Put events into historical context
  4. Lobbyist - Promoting ideas to those who can make them a reality. Lobbyists are usually hired by an association, corporation, or non-profit organisation to convince government members to make a decision that would benefit the organisation or company they are representing. As a lobbyist you will perform tasks like:
    • Monitor, research and analyse legislation
    • Attend congressional hearings
    • Reach out to government policymakers
    • Use communication tools to promote ideas to the public
  5. Communication Specialist in a non-profit body: A degree in International Relations can land you a job in a non-profit organisation that operates at an international level. As a Communications Specialist, you’ll have the chance to develop your career in a local office that has a global reach. Non-profit agencies like World Vision and Red Cross provide such global service, but there are many other options, too. Your main duties will be:
    • Creating effective communication strategies
    • Handling internal communications
    • Writing content for media and social networks
  6. Journalist: With social media creating alternative options to consuming news, there is a growing need for citizens to be able to make informed decisions about politics, travel and current affairs. IR majors are particularly knowledgeable about the world, making them ideal candidates for any correspondent or journalist post. Skills marketable in this field include having a global awareness and how to effectively communicate news to the world.
To qualify for becoming IR, one must do a Masters in International Relations from a reputed University.

A graduate degree is a prerequisite in the sphere of international affairs. Recruiters expect their new hires to have not only cross-cultural experience but also cross-disciplinary skills. Among different graduate programs, a Masters in International Relations would be the most relevant, helping give students both the skills and experience necessary.

Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the program, a master’s in international relations will open the doors to a wide range of international relations careers. It not only allows students to gain expertise across a wide set of disciplines including languages, humanities, economics, politics and business, among others, but also to gain transferable professional skills including writing, quantitative and qualitative analysis, planning and organization and cross-cultural awareness. Joint degrees in business or law can also serve you well in such positions. Along with the soft and hard skills developed on a master’s program, you will also be able to draw upon your undergraduate major, your previous field experience, and personal interests in a specific functional topic in order to develop expertise which will serve you well in the international affairs arena. In addition to Masters degree, following the below will help substantially.
  1. Do some international relations career research: Due to the differing focuses and specializations of international relations programs offered by universities, it is necessary to do in-depth research before sending out an application. Career research needs to be done even earlier than program research, as choosing a program which resonates with your interests and career goals should form a crucial part of your career strategy. One useful resource for conducting program research into international relations careers would be the website of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA.org).
  2. Find international relations internships: If you are a first time job seeker in the international affairs sector or a career switcher, then international relations internships or volunteering work with an organization could be a good place to start. Internships offer several advantages: you can get insights into and an understanding of a particular career field, form a network for your future job search, raise your visibility and get access to unadvertised job opportunities. Organizations like the UN, the European Union, international NGOs, and multinational corporations all have annual internship programs for graduate students or recent graduates.
  3. Gain international experience and learn a foreign language: In addition to technical skills, recruiters in the international relations arena look at candidates’ international experience, cross-cultural awareness and language skills. A proven ability to work well in cross-cultural teams, evidence of an international mind-set, field experience in developing countries, and fluency in a foreign language will definitely help you in your search for international relations careers.
  4.  Use your business networking skills: One of the best platforms to apply your business networking skills would be relevant events or conferences. If you decide to pursue a Masters in International Relations, then remember to network with your professors; the best practitioners in the sector who can help you land your first job and send you along your way to your perfect international relations career.

Career in Biomechatronics

Career in Biomechatronics - Jupiter Knowledge

Biomechatronics is the merging of man with machine. It is an interdisciplinary field encompassing biology, neurosciences, mechanics, electronics and robotics. Biomechatronic scientists attempt to make devices that interact with human muscle, skeleton, and nervous systems with the goals of assisting or enhancing human motor control that can be lost or impaired by trauma, disease or birth defects.  Biomechatronic devices encompass a wide range of applications from the development of prosthetic limbs to engineering solutions concerning respiration, vision, and the cardiovascular system. Biomechatronics mimics how the human body works. Any biomechatronic system has four types of components which are as following:
  • Biosensor:  It detects the user's "intentions". This information can come from the user's nervous and/or muscle system.
  • Mechanical Sensor: It measures information about the device (such as limb position, applied force and load) and relate to the biosensor and/or the controller. These are mechanical devices such as force meters and accelerometers.
  • Controller: It interfaces the user's nerve or muscle system and the device. It relays and/or interprets intention commands from the user to the actuators of the device . It also relays and/or interprets feedback information from the mechanical and biosensors to the user. The controller also monitors and controls the movements of the biomechatronic device.
  • Actuator: It is an artificial muscle that produces force or movement. The actuator can be a motor that aids or replaces the user's native muscle depending upon whether the device is orthotic or prosthetic.
The demand for biomechatronic devices are at an all-time high and show no signs of slowing down. With increasing technological advancement in recent years, biomechatronic researchers have been able to construct prosthetic limbs that are capable of replicating the functionality of human appendages. Despite the demand, however, biomechatronic technologies struggle within the healthcare market due to high costs and lack of implementation into insurance policies.

There are very few Universities in the world that offer courses in Biomechatronics. Students aspiring to specialize in this field do many courses in the following fields:
  • Mechatronics Engineering ( Degree and Masters Level)
  • Biomedical Engineering ( Degree and Masters Level)
  • Robotics Engineering ( Degree and Masters Level)
There are many prestigious Universities such as MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) that have groups dedicated to academics and research in the field of Biomechatronics.

Biomechatronics professionals can work in various areas such as medical device design and manufacturing,  research and development, patient rehabilitation centres, geriatric care, specialized hospitals and prosthetic providers for people with physical and mental disabilities. There is a good scope of seeking employment in above areas and one can find immense satisfaction in helping an individual to lead a normal life.

Silo (Mario Luis Rodríguez Cobos)

Silo - Jupiter Knowledge

Silo is the pseudonym of Mario Luis Rodríguez Cobos. He was born in 1938 near Mendoza, located between Argentina and Chile. He was an Argentine writer and founder of the Humanist Movement. An active speaker, he wrote books, short stories, articles and studies related to politics, society, psychology, spirituality and other topics. Although he described himself simply as a writer, many see him as a thinker and philosopher, based on the diversity of issues about which he has written.

Silo was born into a middle-class family in  Argentina. He undertook primary and secondary education with the Maristas Brotherhood, achieving excellent grades, while practising gymnastic. He was involved in various youth organizations and lead a very active social and intellectual life. He carried out special studies, in languages including French and Italian, and philosophy. He also published articles in cultural magazines.

Silo studied law and at the university he began to organize research groups on human beings and their existential and social problems.

Silo travelled around Argentina, South America and Europe and undertook various jobs. By 1960 he began to present his proposals, while still forming study groups in Argentina and Chile. With members of these groups he organized a public talk, which was initially banned by the military government but later was permitted in the mountains, away from the centres of population.

On 4 May 1969, Silo spoke to some two hundred people gathered in the high Andes mountains near Mount Aconcagua, and gave his first public exposition of the ideas, that in time, would form the basis of the Humanist Movement. In this talk, known as "The Healing of Suffering", he explained themes such as the overcoming of pain and suffering, the meaning of life, violence, desire and pleasure.

Silo married Ana Luisa Cremaschi, whom he knew from his youth, and had two sons, Alejandro and Federico, with whom he lived in his hometown.

In 1972 he published The Inner Look and created the current of thought now known as New Humanism. He founded the Humanist Movement, an organized group that sought to translate this thought into practice. It can be said that this thinking encompasses the whole of human existence, not only social but also personal.

Since the eighties, and under his orientation, the Humanist Movement began a period of expansion in the world with the creation of organisms and fronts of action as follows:
  • The Humanist Party with a presence in more than 30 countries
  • The Community for Human Development (a cultural association)
  • Convergence of Cultures (a civil association)
  • World Without Wars (an anti-armament association)
  • The World Centre of Humanist Studies.
During 1981 he was invited to express his proposals in various public rallies in European and Asian cities, visiting Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, and later Mumbai (India) and Colombo (Sri Lanka), before returning to Paris, and later San Francisco (California) and Mexico City. He explained with particular force the position of nonviolence, manifested in the overcoming of suffering, the human treatment of others and the attitude of not searching for those to blame. Aspects of these talks relevant to his thought were published in the book "Silo Speaks".

In early 2002, Silo announced his retirement from the Humanist Movement, after being its driving force for 32 years. In mid-2002 he launched Silo's Message understood as a book, an experience and a path.

During the first decade of the 21st century he returned to speak at Punta de Vacas on several occasions with proposals of reconciliation, access to the profound and the sacred of human being, accepting invitations to speak about his Message and going to various places.

He died at his home on 16 September 2010, after suffering for more than a year with renal disease.

I recommend all of you to read his works. All of his works are available online for free on his official website www.silo.net .

Intellectuals, highly educated people, businessmen, corporate professionals will find his writings deeply appealing and thought provoking. Readers will surely feel their minds transformed after reading his books. Silo just doesn't deal with all matters in theory. There are tools that can be used to transform the individual and the society to achieve meaningful purpose of existence and establish harmony in body, mind and spirit. Silo never propagated any religion. His concepts are universal based on the theme of humanism. Explore his writings available for free on www.silo.net

Who are the Naxalites ?

Naxalites - Jupiter Knowledge

The term Naxal comes from the village Naxalbari in West Bengal where the Naxalbari uprising of 1967 occurred. People who are engaged in the insurgency are called Naxals or Naxalite. The movement itself is referred to as Naxalism. Naxalism is largely active in tribal and rural areas of India which are remote and under-developed.

In May 1967, a movement was initiated in West Bengal to adopt armed struggle to redistribute land to the landless. The leaders of this movement were members of CPI-M (Communist Party of India- Maoist) which  had joined a coalition government in West Bengal. Before being part of coalition government, the members believed in militant confiscation of land. However after joining hands with the West Bengal Government, some members did not approve of the armed uprising. This disagreement within the party soon culminated with the Naxalbari Uprising on May 1967, and a group of dissidents revolted.

On 25 May 1967 in Naxalbari, a tribal (Adivasi) who had been given land by the courts under the tenancy laws was attacked by the landlord's men. In retaliation, tribals started forcefully capturing back their lands. When a police team arrived, they were ambushed by a group of tribals  and a police inspector was killed in a hail of arrows. This event encouraged many Santhal tribals and other poor people to join the movement and to start attacking local landlords. After seventy-two days of revolt, the CPI (M) coalition government suppressed this incident. Subsequently, In November 1967, this group organised the All India Coordination Committee of Communist Revolutionaries (AICCCR).

The Chinese leader, Mao Zedong became ideological inspiration for the Naxalbari movement, leading to the Naxalite belief that Indian peasants and lower class tribals must overthrow the government of the upper classes by force. A large number of urban elites were also attracted to the ideology inspired from opinions of communist leaders and theorists such as Mao Zedong, Karl Marx, and Vladimir Lenin. Using People's courts, similar to those established by Mao, Naxalites try opponents and execute them with axes or knives, beat, or permanently exile them.

Around 1971 the Naxalites gained a strong presence among the radical sections of the student movement in Calcutta. Students left school to join the Naxalites. Naxals declared that revolutionary warfare was to take place not only in the rural areas as before, but now everywhere and spontaneously. A dictum was set that Naxalites should assassinate individual "class enemies" (such as landlords, businessmen, university teachers, police officers, politicians of the right and left) and others. The West Bengal police fought back to stop the Naxalites.

The early 1970s saw the spread of Naxalism to almost every state in India, except Western India. During the 1970s, the movement was fragmented into disputing factions. By 1980, it was estimated that around 30 Naxalite groups were active, with a combined membership of 30,000. In 1985 Naxalite insurgents began ambushing police. The governments of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa managed to quell down the rebels with a variety of counterinsurgency measures. Along with taking the help of the Greyhounds, the states established special laws that enabled police to capture and detain Naxalite cadres, fighters and presumed supporters. By the early 2000s, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have seen very minimal Naxal presence.

On 6 April 2010, the Maoists ambushed and killed 76 paramilitary personnel. On 25 May 2013, the Maoists ambushed a convoy of the Indian National Congress and killed 27 people including many big leaders of the Indian National Congress. On 3 April 2021, twenty-two Indian soldiers were killed in a Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh state of India.

In September 2009, an all-out offensive was launched by the Government of India's paramilitary forces and the state's police forces against the Naxalites. It was termed by the Indian media as the "Operation Green Hunt". Since the start of the operation: 2,266 Maoist militants have been killed, 10,181 have been arrested and 9,714 have surrendered. In 2020, Naxal activity began to increase once again in Telangana and other areas. By July 2021, the number of districts affected by Naxalism came down significantly as compared to the year 2009.

According to Naxalites, Indian Government took away the homelands of tribal populations just like the British colonial way and made them squatters in their own motherland. Their lands were acquired for infrastructure, industries, irrigation while the original inhabitants struggled for water, electricity, healthcare. The Naxalites recruit people who have a revolutionary personality with qualities like selflessness and the ability to self-sacrifice. Primarily students and youth are recruited. The organisation selected the youth because these students represented the educated section of Indian society. These recruits would be crucial in the duty of spreading the communist teachings of Mao Zedong. In order to expand their base, the movement relied on these students to spread communist philosophy to the uneducated rural and working class communities. Naxalites believe it is necessary to recruit students and youth who were able to integrate themselves with the peasantry and working classes, and by living and working in similar conditions to these lower-class communities. This will enable the recruits to carry the communist teachings of Mao Zedong to villages and urban centers.

Eventually the Naxal movement has turned into a completely anti-India movement wherein the controls of the movement are with enemy nations of India such as China. Under the garb of working for rights and upliftment of poor, lowly, underprivileged and minorities, the Naxalites are leaving no stone unturned to create chaos and disunity in India. They have quietly taken over many important bureaucratic, educational, political positions mainly in government organizations solely to run their agenda. Many prominent TV Channels, newspapers, journalists, writers, poets, painters, actors, film makers, NGOs are working as a part of the Naxalite movement. They do not do this openly. They portray themselves as messiahs of the poor and underprivileged. The fact is they get paid handsomely by their foreign masters such as China and other anti India fronts. A very noticeable point about them is they constantly deride Hinduism. They pick up Hindu festivals and rituals to target them as anti-women, caste based bias, regressive, inhuman, cruel to animals, bad for environment or bad for children. They will never speak against any wrong practice of Abrahamic religions such as Islam or Christianity. Rather they will speak in favour of all wrong things practiced by them. This bias is to make Hindus feel inferior and alienate them from their culture and nation eventually. This will make them easy target to recruit them into the Naxalite movement and destroy India eventually.

Be it Indian or any other national, one should strongly oppose the Naxalite movement as it is not just against India and Hinduism but against humanity and civilization as well.

A good way of knowing and understanding this movement is watching the movie "Buddha in a Traffic Jam" made in the year 2016 by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the make of the famous movie "The Kashmir Files".

Benefits of Chanting The Gayatri Mantra

The Gayatri Mantra is an ancient mantra from the Vedas of India. Hindus consider this mantra as the essence of the Vedas. This mantra is a blessing to mankind. Though, you may have already known or heard about it, you may not be aware of the tremendous benefits of chanting the Gayatri Mantra. Even if you are not a Hindu, you can still chant the Gayatri Mantra and receive the benefits of the same. Such is the greatness of Hinduism or the Sanatan Dharma !  There is no restriction on anyone for chanting this mantra. So let us see what is Gayatri Mantra is all about.

The Gayatri Mantra is an invocation to the Divine Light of the Sun. Yes, the Sun or the Solar Deity is the one that is responsible for life on Earth. All life forms of Earth derive energy from the Sun. Plants are the primary point in the food cycle whereby they convert solar energy through photosynthesis and nourish themselves. Humans and animals eat these plants and thus derive energy which is primarily obtained by plants from the Sun. So what if humans directly take energy from Sun and sustain themselves ! It is indeed the case with highly accomplished Yogis who live directly on sunlight and air.

But can we ordinary people do likewise ? Absolutely not ! However, ancient Rishis and Seers in Hinduism have revealed mantras that can help mankind in various ways. The Gayatri mantra has 24 letters corresponding to the 24 vertebrae of the spine. The backbone is what provides support and stability to our body. Similarly, the Gayatri mantra brings stability in our intellect. The chanting of Gayatri mantra sharpens the intellect and brightens the memory. A new mirror reflects clearly, but over time, dust gathers and it needs cleaning. Similarly, our mind becomes tainted with time, the company that we keep, the knowledge we receive and our latent tendencies. When we chant the Gayatri mantra, it is like deep cleansing, so that the mirror (the mind) reflects in a better way. Through the mantra, the inner glow is kindled, the inner plane is kept alive. One gains brilliance in both the inner and outer worlds.

The Gayatri mantra in Devanagari:

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥

In IAST:

Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ tat savitur vareṇyaṃ bhargo devasya dhīmahi dhiyo yo naḥ prachodayāt

– Rigveda 3.62.10

Meaning of Gayatri Mantra:

"We meditate on the glory of that Being who has produced this universe; may She enlighten our minds"

The ideal time to chant is the transitory hours of dawn and dusk. The times when the sun has set but it is neither dark nor light and when the night has passed and the day is yet to begin. In these moments, the mind also enters an altered state of consciousness.  However, you can chant it anytime as per your wish. One must sit down in a peaceful place and keep his spine straight and chant at least 108 times daily to get benefits. This much amount of practice is minimum to notice the benefits. Always chant with faith, devotion and sincerity.

Pictorially, the Gayatri Mantra is represented as a female Deity i.e. Goddess Gayatri. She is portrayed as the female form of the Light of the Sun. The Light itself denotes the wisdom that enlightens the soul.

Some well known benefits of Gayatri Mantra
  • Improves concentration and learning
  • Removes toxins from the body
  • Improves breathing and functioning of the nervous system
  • Keeps your heart healthy and removes the negativity
  • Calms the mind
  • Reduces stress and anxiety
If you are student, your intellect will get sharpened and also will your memory improve. Businessmen and professionals will make better and clearer decisions. If you are in the field of art, creativity, beauty, aesthetics, you will see that Gayatri Mantra chanting will give you new inspirations, novel insights and unique ideas in your field. Sportsmen will develop greater stamina and endurance capability. Researchers and scientists will see a marked difference in their accomplishments.

The Holland Occupational Themes (RIASEC)

Have you often wished that you were into some other profession as per your liking ? It is very normal to feel so. It is no doubt very important to choose a vocation or profession as per your passion. However, it is more important to know how fit are you for that occupation. Now the question is how exactly would you know this ?

John Holland, an American psychologist, developed a model to gauge the vocational fitness of people. It is called the RIASEC model. It is also referred to as "The Holland Codes". This model is extensively used in the fields of Career Counselling, Research and Practice. One can choose a career or vocation based on this understanding of RIASEC model applied to himself.

Basically every individual has following 6 six attributes within him namely Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional. The combined abbreviation of each attribute is nothing but the RIASEC model. We all have these 6 attributes in varied degrees. This is the reason why we are different from each other. So let us look at each of these 6 attributes.

Realistic
A Realistic person likes to work with animals, tools, or machines; generally avoids social activities like teaching, healing, and informing others. He has good skills in working with tools, mechanical or electrical drawings, machines, or plants and animals. He values practical things you can see, touch, and use like plants and animals, tools, equipment, or machines; and see himself as practical, mechanical, and realistic.

Social
He likes to do things to help people -- like, teaching, nursing, or giving first aid, providing information; generally avoids using machines, tools, or animals to achieve a goal. He is  good at teaching, counseling, nursing, or giving information. He values helping people and solving social problems; and sees self as helpful, friendly, and trustworthy.

Investigative
He likes to study and solve math or science problems; generally avoids leading, selling, or persuading people. He is  good at understanding and solving science and math problems, values science and sees himself as precise, scientific, and intellectual.

Enterprising
He likes to lead and persuade people, and to sell things and ideas; generally avoids activities that require careful observation and scientific, analytical thinking. He is good at leading people and selling things or ideas. He values success in politics, leadership, or business; and sees himself as energetic, ambitious, and sociable.

Artistic
He likes to do creative activities like art, drama, crafts, dance, music, or creative writing; generally avoids highly ordered or repetitive activities. He has good artistic abilities -- in creative writing, drama, crafts, music, or art. He values the creative arts -- like drama, music, art, or the works of creative writers; and sees himself as expressive, original, and independent.

Conventional
He likes to work with numbers, records, or machines in a set, orderly way; generally avoids ambiguous, unstructured activities. He is good at working with written records and numbers in a systematic, orderly way. He values success in business; and sees himself as orderly, and good at following a set plan.

Using a psychometric test one, can know which are topmost strongest attributes in him. Accordingly, we would find the best occupational fitment for him. Here are the various scenarios.

Realistic (R) Career Ideas: Carpenter, Construction Worker ,Robotics Engineer, Landscaper, Chef / Baker, Delivery Driver, Medical Technician

Investigative (I) Career Ideas: Scientist, Researcher, Private Investigator, Data Analyst, Software Developer, Forensic Scientist, Journalist,

Artistic (A) Career ideas: Creative Writer, Visual Artist, Digital Designer, Songwriter, Data Visualizer, Video Producer, Actor

Social (S) Career ideas: Teacher, Counsellor, Marketing Specialist, Public Relations (PR) Specialist
Communications Coordinator, Brand Ambassador, Dancer / Performer, Sales Manager

Enterprising (E) Career ideas: Entrepreneur, Market Researcher, Small Business Owner, Managing Editor, Real Estate Agent, Travel Agent, Consultant

Conventional (C) Career ideas: Accountant, Land Surveyor, Medical Coder, Court Reporter, Receptionist, Claims Adjuster, Pharmacist

Your career choice should be done based on the first 3 strongest attributes. For example, if you have RIC ( Realistic, Investigative, Conventional) attributes with R being the highest then choose being an engineer who works in analysis and quality aspects of a product.

If you have ISE (Investigative, Social, Enterprising) attributes, then choose being a doctor as you need to probe the causes of health of a patient and help him accordingly.

Remember that the above model is just a pointer or a tool to understand yourself better to take a carrier choice. It has its own limitations. Ideally your career choice should be done based on this model with guidance from a professional career counselor. Nevertheless, the basic knowledge about RIASEC model gives confidence in the process of Career Counseling.

On the northern side of Mumbai city, lies a distant suburb called Virar. This little suburb is blessed with the presence of Ma Jivdani-The Divine Mother. Jivdani Mata is a Hindu Goddess. The main temple of the goddess is situated atop a hill, almost 1500 feet from the sea-level. The Goddess rests in a temple situated about 1465 steps above the ground on a hill  which offers a very picturesque view of Virar and its vicinity. During the nine days of the Navratri festival many followers visit the shrine.

The temple has an ancient history. The legendary heroes of the epic Mahabharata, the Pandavas had visited this place and worshipped Ma Jivdani in the cave housed by the present times temple. Slowly, with the passage of time and advent of Buddhism in that area, people soon forgot about the cave and eventually stopped going there. The Mother was totally ignored there. After many years, due to the blessings of the mighty and great Adi Shankaracharya, Hinduism again took roots in India. One day, a villager was miraculously guided to the lost and forgotten cave of Ma Jivdani. He was blessed with the vision of the Goddess who granted him many boons. The villager brought the good news to the whole village and soon the temple regained its prominence. Till this day, Ma Jivdani is visited by thousands of devotees everyday.

The Mother fulfils the wishes and prayers of Her devotees. Many childless couples have become parents with Her blessings, the sick have been healed and the poor have become wealthy. Restless souls have gained peace of mind while unhappy ones have been blessed with joy and prosperity. People from all faiths and religions visit Ma Jivdani and get Her blessings. The visit to the temple itself is a blessed experience. Anyone can easily feel the presence of Divine Power within the temple. The Mother's idol is made of white marble and devotees praying to Her feel She is actually present there and listening to them as their real life mother.

The temple is open on all days of the week. There is a cable car facility to go to the temple on the hill. So people who cannot climb the steps, can easily reach the Mother through the cable car.

We strongly recommend you to visit the temple of Ma Jivdani and experience yourself the Divine atmosphere in the temple. You simply cannot miss the presence of the compassionate and powerful Mother over there.

What is Access Bars ?

Access Conciousness is a alternative medicine organization that was founded in 1995 by Gary M. Douglas. It purports many non-specific benefits such as wakefulness and weight loss that can be gained through their special head massages, electromagnetic activation of chakra-like "bar points". They offer many books, video and physical classes, memberships and accessories. According to its founders, it is now practised in 173 countries by more than 10,000 trained facilitators. Though only a fraction of those are in India, the numbers are growing rapidly, mostly women.

Access Consciousness – informally called just ‘Access’ – is a kind of new-age thought movement originating in the US, the aim of which is “to create a world of consciousness and oneness, where everything exists and nothing is judged”. Part of the process is Access Bars (or just ‘Bars’), a kind of non-invasive energy healing modality that uses a set of 32 points on the head which, when lightly touched, are said to “stimulate positive change in the brain, release physical and mental blocks stored in the body, and help facilitate greater ease in all different areas of life,” according to the founders.

These points contain all the thoughts, ideas, beliefs, emotions, and considerations you have stored. This is an opportunity for you to let go of everything! Benefits of Access Bars are numerous. Hundreds of thousands of people have used Access Bars to change many aspects of their body and their life, including sleep, health and weight, money, relationships, anxiety, stress, and so much more.

Access Bars can feel like hitting the delete button on your computer’s cluttered hard drive. Things like negative thought patterns, or that endless mental chatter keeping you awake at night, can be released and make space for the calm you’ve been seeking.

Having your ‘Bars run’ (receiving a session) is relaxing and peaceful; imagine the after-effects of a great massage or walk in nature. At best, you can feel a sense of total ease, unlike anything else, that starts to change your whole life.

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui was a healer and Master of Energy in the Eastern traditions. He developed the practice of Pranic Healing to bring wholeness to the physical body, and the concepts of Arhatic Yoga to bring peace to the spirit. GMCKS  name is translated as “Fortune of the World.”

Master GMCKS was born August 15, 1952, in Cebu City, the Philippines. His parents were of Chinese descent and had found success in the business world. GMCKS  read voraciously as a youth, preferring books and studying to playmates and outdoor activities.

Although GMCKS  was raised in an environment of business and absorbed its lessons, he was captured by spirituality, Eastern thought and tales of spiritual leaders. He questioned his parents about figures from the past, such as St. Francis of Assisi, and when he was old enough to attend University he sought out mentors that could teach him more.

GMCKS  had three personal guides on his spiritual path, but his primary teacher was Mahaguruji Mei Ling. GMCKS  believed that the Mahaguruji had been instructing him through eons of time, reconnecting with him across multiple incarnations. While under the tutelage of his mentors during his years of university education, GMCKS became a yogi.

He also earned a degree in chemical engineering and followed his father’s modern footsteps into business. Although he became a wealthy and successful businessman, GMCKS ultimately chose to pursue a path of inner growth and the seeking of life’s essential principles.

The search for opportunities to learn from a multitude of practitioners in as many disciplines as possible lead to 40 years of immersion in yoga, Kabbalah and chi kung. GMCKS studied crystal healing, psychic self-defense, meditation, clairvoyance and feng shui, among many other practices.

From 1983 to 1987, GMCKS  took a break from his intense studies and began to try to synthesize everything he had learned from Mahaguruji Mei Ling and his many other teachers. In these years of reverie and deliberation he originated two systems for the purposes of helping humanity eliminate its weaknesses and embrace its virtues. These systems were Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga.

The practice of Pranic Healing was introduced in his 1987 book “The Ancient Science and Art of Pranic Healing,” later released as “Miracles Through Pranic Healing.” This book saw wide acceptance, being published in 27 languages throughout 40 countries.

Prana is the Sanskrit word for “vital life force.” It is an invisible energy that surrounds and infuses all life, bringing balance and harmony. It is freely available from the sun, air and earth. In historical times only a few noble practitioners were allowed to provide healing through the manipulation of prana. It was GMCKS intent to develop a system that would allow anyone to understand and master the techniques of Pranic Healing in a short time, making the benefits of the practice available to all.

Pranic Healing does not involve touching the patient; it is wholly concerned with the person’s aura, an energy field that surrounds and flows through the body. The principle is that the healing practitioner can detect imbalances in the aura and cleanse them, then draw prana from the surroundings through the aura and into the body, directing it to the area that needs to be healed.

Once it is cleansed and in a state of balanced energy the body has the power to heal itself. Aftercare involves exercise, a healthy diet and calming one’s emotions. Patients who experience Pranic Healing report feeling physically and emotionally balanced, uplifted and alert.

The second system developed by GMCKS addressed the spiritual rather than the physical well-being. Called Arhatic Yoga, this is a blending of many yogic traditions. It has the benefit of being a program that can be practiced by people of all ages and abilities. The purpose of Arhatic Yoga is to use the virtues of love, intelligence and will to enable spiritual growth.

The practice of Arhatic Yoga involves exercises and meditation to align one's chakras, increase one's mental powers and intuition, and develop control of one’s emotions and improvement of one’s character. The ultimate goal for the practitioner is to make oneself a more devoted servant of the earth and humanity.

Master Choa traveled extensively all over the world for more than 20 years to share and teach his methods. His intent to make Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga easy to understand and learn was triumphantly realized. He was known for being an effective and approachable teacher, giving his students not only the skills they were seeking but an enjoyable and spiritually fulfilling experience.

Master Choa went on to publish 25 more books in thirty languages. These included “Pranic Psychotherapy” in 1990, “Pranic Crystal Healing” in 1996, and “Meditations for Soul Realization” in 2000. He also established more than 100 healing centers in over 90 countries.

Outreach efforts by the followers of Pranic Healing were facilitated by two agencies founded BY master  Choa: the Institute for Inner Studies, founded in 1988, and the World Pranic Healing Foundation, founded in 1990. The Institute was established to serve the Western hemisphere, while the Foundation focused on developing countries. Master Choa also established the MCKS Charitable Foundation to bring food assistance, medical care and disaster relief to needy areas across the globe.

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui left his physical body on March 19, 2007, in Quezon City, the Philippines. He was 54 years old.

Living an extraordinary life ....
He is truly a gift from Great Ones

Dr.Alok Pandey - A Unique Doctor from India

Dr. Alok Pandey is a medical doctor specialized in psychiatry who retired from the Indian Air Force and has currently settled down at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry. He has conducted several workshops on diverse subjects in India and abroad and contributed number of articles on different subjects in various Indian and International journals. He has authored three books and also edits All India Magazine, a monthly journal of the Sri Aurobindo Society.  He is presently associated with the Sri Aurobindo International Institute of Integral Health and Research, Pondicherry, an institute dedicated to the work and vision of Sri Aurobindo in the field of health.

Dr. Alok Pandey has had several encounters with death during the course of his medical practice. Being a philosopher by temperament, this raised several issues and he sought answers to these both within and without. But neither the prevalent scientific and current intellectual notions nor the traditional religious and conventional spiritual belief could satisfy his quest or resolve deep existential issues regarding life and death, karma and rebirth, suffering and pain, and most of all the goal of human journey.

It is only when he came in touch with Sri Aurobindo and The Mother that he found these issues abundantly answered and the thirst of his soul more than quenched by the vast vision and refreshing springs of Sri Aurobindo’s works and revelation.

His lectures on various topics such as spirituality, religion, health, money, work, world economics, society are available on YouTube.  His lectures are compiled on the website https://auromaa.org/

When roasted, the whole cauliflower looks gorgeous and smells divine. The makhani curry is decadent, creamy, buttery, and fantastic. Green Tara Mantra

Mantra Chanting brings immense spiritual and physical benefits. Mantra is basically a series of words which helps release certain powers within you on chanting the same as per the prescribed process. It can help you attain your spiritual goal and also can be used for physical, mental and emotional health purposes. Mantras originated in the Vedic tradition of India, becoming an essential part of the Hindu tradition and a customary practice within Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism. Its literal translation would be "instrument of thought".

Here I specifically recommend chanting of Green Tara Mantra as practiced by Buddhists. During the Corona pandemic, His Holiness the Dalai Lama — when asked for spiritual advice on the pandemic — suggested that chanting the Green Tara mantra could be helpful.

Tara is a female Buddha. She is the Goddess of compassion and the Mother of liberation. She manifests Her various energies as per Her colors. Green is the universal color of healing, regeneration, and growth. It is also the color of vibrant energy and activity. Green Tara therefore manifests healing energy, vibrancy, playfulness and activity.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama mentioned this about Tara:

"There's a true feminist movement in Buddhism that relates to the Goddess Tara…She vowed, 'I've developed bodhicitta as a woman. For all my lifetimes along the path I vow to be born as a woman, and in my final lifetime when I attain Buddhahood, then, too, I will be a woman."

Heal and rejuvenate yourself by chanting the Green Tara Mantra.

The Mantra is " Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha".

It means “I prostrate to the Liberator, Mother of all the Victorious Ones.”

By chanting the Green Tara Mantra, we invoke Tara's power and grace to  protect us from danger, fear and bring within us compassion and selflessness.

Guidelines for chanting Green Tara Mantra:
  1. Have a bath and wear clean washed clothes
  2. Make an altar with a picture or statue of Green Tara
  3. Light an oil lamp and incense to the Mother. Offer Her some fresh flowers.
  4. Sit in front of the altar on a mat. Don't wear shoes.
  5. Silently say a small prayer to Green Tara for blessing you
  6. Start chanting the Green Tara Mantra. You can do soft chanting or do it mentally.
  7. Chant at least 108 times. You can choose to chant more if you wish. But do it in multiples of 108.
  8. Do the above process at least once a day. You can do it 3 times a day too ( morning, afternoon and evening).
  9. Ideally do the mantra chanting everyday at fixed time
  10. Chant with devotion in your heart. Mechanical chanting should be avoided
  11. Surrender yourself to Green Tara and seek refuge in Her
Eventually, after some days you will start seeing the benefits. You will become calmer, happier and stronger than before. Do not stop the practice after you get benefits. Keep following it to sustain the benefits and blessings of Green Tara.

Indigo Children

There is a lot of talk on the "Indigo Children".  We often see, hear and read in media about Indigo or Star children who are special and are doing something for the betterment of the world. To the rationalists, this is pure hoax. But there is big number of believers in the truth of Indigo Children. It is up to your choice and belief to accept or reject the concept of Indigo Children.

An indigo child is especially born in the world for awakening humans spiritually and aid the evolution of world. Indigo children are freethinkers and they can easily see the truth of human conditions. They find it very difficult to live as per norms of mainstream society. This causes them to be often misunderstood, rejected, or misdiagnosed and medicated. They are highly intuitive and have special gifts like ability to see and communicate with spiritual beings. They are primarily responsible for exposing truth and deception. It is easy for indigo children  to see through the illusions, half-truths, and falsehood rife in society.  Unfortunately their parents and teachers find them overly inquisitive, headstrong, and even obnoxious children. It is in the DNA of an indigo child to expose truth.

The world fails to understand them and they are often  misdiagnosed with behavioral issues  and other mood disorders. Their questioning mind and free thinking abilities become bothersome for their schools and society. Some are given medication by doctors which sadly numbs their active minds. This is entirely wrong. The indigo child is simply not understood by the mundane world.

Parents who feel their child is different should consider assessing him to know if he is an indigo child. Parents of indigo children should help their child through below tips:
  • Help them stay grounded and encourage them to practice mindful breathing
  • Enroll them for yoga and meditation class
  • Teach them to practice emotional acceptance
  • Gradually help them understand the spiritual awakening process
  • Encourage their creative talent and let them express their visionary ideas.
  • Make the child regularly spend time in nature to unwind and regain balance.
Remember that Indigo Children are special people who are highly developed souls. They will do their work and accomplish the mission they are born for. All you can do is give unconditional support to them and thus collaborate towards betterment of world.
