What is Deep State ?

Deep State is a parallel government or a powerful group that controls the nation in spite of not being officially in power. Deep State exert influence and control over the officially government of the country to fulfil its goals and serve its purpose. Deep state refers more to a hidden organization seeking to manipulate the public state. It is an alleged secret network of especially nonelected government officials and sometimes private entities (as in the financial services and defense industries) operating extralegally to influence and enact government policy. The power of the deep state comes from experience, knowledge, relationships, insight, craft, special skills, traditions, and shared values. Together, these purported attributes make nameless bureaucrats into a super-government that is accountable to no one. That is a scary prospect. The term "deep state" gained popularity in some circles during the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election in opposition to mainstream Republican and Democratic candidates.

The modern concept of a deep state is associated with Turkey where a secret network of military officers and their civilian allies trying to preserve their secular ideology.

You may often wonder how is this possible i.e. how come people outside the government can exercise their power like this ? Shockingly this is true in almost all nations. Though Pakistan has an elected government headed by the Prime Minister, it is actually the Army that controls the governance of Pakistan. Till date, no prime minister of Pakistan has yet served their full five year term.

The Congress Party led by Nehru-Gandhi dynasty remained in power for almost all terms of Indian government till 2014. The last two terms came under Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) from 2014 onwards. However BJP found it very difficult to run the government in spite of full majority as the parallel bureaucracy, local bodies, students organizations, judicial lobbies, education boards and universities were entirely controlled by Congress Party. It has taken lot of time and efforts for BJP to handle this control by Congress.

In the USA,  since 1963, the deep state has enabled a  hybrid association of government elements and parts of top-level industry and finance that is effectively able to govern the United States without reference to the consent of the governed as expressed through the formal political process. Donald Trump administration has accused the Intelligence agencies such as the CIA to thwart its policy goals.

In UK, the deep state is controlled by the Civil Service of the nation. The Prime Minister has mentioned how the Civil Service controls the government. They genuinely see themselves as the true guardians of the national interest, and think that their job is simply to wear the elected politicians down and wait them out.

Deep State is seen in all nations. One has to see and analyze carefully how these powers control the functioning of the nation and accordingly take decisions related to business, commerce or trade accordingly.

Warren Buffett’s 5/25 Rule

Warren Edward Buffett is one of the richest persons in the world. He is an  American businessman and is famous for his way of wealth generation through investment. He owns Berkshire Hathaway, one of the most admired and richest companies. Buffet has a net worth of $104 billion as of March 2023, making him the fifth-richest person in the world.

Often he shares his financial wisdom publicly. He is a generous philanthropist and never hides his philosophy for success. One of his famously known wisdom for success is the  5/25 Rule.

Warren Buffet’s 5/25 rule is a productivity strategy based on three simple steps:
  1. Make a list of your top 25 goals.
  2. Circle the 5 most important goals that truly speak to you. These are your most urgent goals and the highest priorities to focus on.
  3. Cross off the other 20 goals you have listed that hold less importance.
It is easy to do the Step 1. The Step 2 is the most difficult part. It prompts you to be strategic and serious about your priorities. Remember that your time is non-renewable and it will never be. You cannot spend your life chasing too many different things and being mediocre at them. The 5/25 principle starts with the understanding that your time is limited and must be used wisely.

The 5/25 rule helps you to focus on the most important accomplishments that are most meaningful to them. The 5/25 rule can be applied to personal or professional goals, family time, or career aspirations, making it an effective, simple technique for prioritizing all aspects of life.

It’s humanly impossible to give all your time and energy to many things at once. It will only make you fail at everything and accomplish nothing. It is said that Warren Buffett’s 5/25 rule came out of advice he gave to his airline pilot Mike Flint. Supposedly, Flint asked Buffett for life advice and how to find time to get everything in his life done. Buffett replied with a three-step approach to solving the problem.

The 5/25 rule is a reminder that it’s not what you do but what you don’t do that drives your productivity and performance. The 5/25 rule works because you’re acknowledging that you can’t focus on lots of things at once, which we humans tend to do all the time.

Buffet has famously quoted:

“The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything.”

The 5/25 rule allows you to split time and energy resources across a smaller number of goals, increasing the chances you’ll achieve them. By adopting the 5/25 rule, you’re one step closer to truly spending time on what matters most to you and becoming more productive, whether in your workplace or at home.

Connect your Children with Mother Nature

Humanity is going through existential crisis. Rapid industrialization and fast paced lifestyle is leading mankind to various perils associated with physical, mental and emotional health. The fundamental reason for this is disconnection of man with Mother Nature. Have you ever thought that Mother Nature needs no connection with you. Actually, you are part of Mother Nature Herself !

You forget the simple fact that you are not machines but living, thinking and feeling entities of the great wonderful power whom you call Mother Nature. So when do you start losing connection with Her ? It begins right from your childhood when you start going to school. You start schooling to gain education. Unfortunately, modern education system simply cuts you off from Nature from your very first day of school. Nature Herself is powerful teacher. Once a child starts to understand the language of Nature, it will automatically begin to love Nature and develop into a wonderful and complete human being.

Do not repeat this mistake with your children. Spare some time with your children everyday and take them outdoors in the open under the sky. Let children directly perceive Nature. Show and explain various aspects of the five aspects of Nature as follows:

  1. Sky: Show various colours of sky at various times of days and seasons.
  2. Water: Show them snow, rain, rivers, streams, wells, ponds, sea
  3. Earth: Show them various types of sand, colors of sand, varieties of sand
  4. Air: Make them experience humid, chill, warm, hot air
  5. Fire: Show sunrise, sunset and noon time sun. Show them horizon and various colors of sun.
Flowers: Who cannot love flowers ! Children too are instantly attracted to flowers. Flowers are the most beautiful essence of plants. Introduce various types of flowers to children. Take them to flower nurseries and bouquet shops. Discuss various flowers with them in terms of colour, fragrance, season and occasions to use them. This way children will understand how to handle flowers with love and appreciation. Tell them about Bach Flower Remedies which is about healing therapy with the help of flowers. Whenever you receive a bouquet of flowers, involve your child to put the flowers in vase with water and other suitable ingredients to make them last for many days. This hands on activity will encourage the child to respect flowers. Also show how flowers can be dried and preserved and used to make various items like potpourri, decorative items, art pieces.

Trees: Most of us take trees for granted without acknowledging their contribution in our life. Trees provide us with wood, fruits, flowers and most importantly oxygen. Show children various types of trees and find opportunities to take part in tree plantation drives.

Fruits/Vegetables: Fruits and vegetables are integral part of our diet. Children should be not only introduced to various types of fruits and vegetables but also be taught to grow them in their backyard. This way, they will understand how much efforts go towards growing them and bringing them to the dining table. They will never disrespect food and will always thank Mother Nature during their meal times. This attitude will go a long way in solving the hunger problem globally.

Animals/ Birds/Insects/Butterflies: We often entertain children with stories and animation movies that have animals, birds and butterflies. While that is okay for children to enjoy, it is more important to show them the real world of animals and birds. Teach children to love and respect the plant and animal kingdom. When you interact with a pet such as a cat or a dog, the emotional connect with animal makes you aware of the individuality and existence of animals at your level of life itself. The child will surely become more empathetic towards animals and birds. Take them to the woods and forest and show them beehives and various butterflies. Explain how they are important in pollination of flowers which finally end up as fruits and vegetables. The bees and butterflies are the ones who play an important role in providing us food. Various birds help us in many ways. Crows function as natural scavengers while eagles eat away rodents and snakes.

Remember, all children are unique. They have their own mindsets and perception ability. You are not providing information to them. You are just introducing various aspect of Nature to these little thinking wizards ! Once they see all the different aspects of Nature, it is enough to arouse their curiosity and interest. It is impossible to keep away a child from Nature once he feels connected with Her.

Benefits of Binaural Beats

When two sound tones of slightly different frequencies are played in separate ears simultaneously (usually through headphones), the human brain perceives the creation of a new, third tone, whose frequency is equivalent to the difference between the two tones being played. This auditory illusion is called a Binaural Beat

For example, if a person hears a tone of 405 Hz in one ear and a tone of 415 Hz in the other, they would be hearing a binaural beat with a frequency of 10 Hz. Your right and left ear each receive a slightly different frequency tone, yet the brain perceives these as a single tone.

Binaural beat therapy is an emerging form of sound wave therapy. It helps in the treatment of anxiety, stress, and related disorders. This self-help treatment is usually available in the form of audio recordings that a person listens to on stereo headphones.  Doctors consider this treatment to be semi-experimental.

Listening to binaural beats for a recommended period can affect a person’s subsequent behavior and sleep cycles.

Our brain waves have different frequencies as per our mental state. They are as follows:

  1. Beta waves (13-16 Hz) occur when we are awake and alert.
  2. Alpha waves (8-12 Hz) happen when we are relaxed with eyes closed, as in meditation.
  3. Theta waves (4-7 Hz) are common in the lighter stages of sleep or the transition from waking to sleeping.
  4. Delta waves (0.5-4 Hz) signify a state of deep sleep.

A binaural beat with a frequency between 4 and 7 Hz therefore is more likely to align with theta brain waves, promoting sleep and relaxation.

The purpose of using binaural beats therapy may differ among individuals. Some people may need help decreasing their anxiety, while others might want to increase their concentration or deepen their level of meditation. Proponents of binaural beat therapy suggest that the potential benefits include:

  1. Reduced stress and anxiety
  2. Increased focus, concentration, and motivation
  3. Improved confidence
  4. Better long term memory after exposure to beta pattern frequencies
  5. Deeper meditation
  6. Enhanced psychomotor performance and mood

How to use Binaural Beats:

To listen to binaural beats, a person will need a pair of stereo headphones and an MP3 player or another music system.  Many apps, podcasts, and other online services provide free access to binaural beats - often in conjunction with guided meditations, music, or other auditory stimuli intended to promote relaxation or focus.

Today's modern fast paced lifestyle causes stress, anxiety, sleep issues and restlessness. It is always best to use safe, alternative healing methods than to go for allopathic medicines that have serious side-effects. Binaural Beats is therefore a good way of trying to deal with the above problems.

Narad Bhakti Sutra (Book)

The Narad Bhakti Sutra is a Hindu scripture on the Path of Devotion to attain Self-Realization. It was written by the highly venerated, Divine Sage Narad. Narad is an immortal Divine Being who is a highly accomplished and pure devotee of Lord Vishnu. He has the power to travel across the entire Universe and all realms of Existence. His sole occupation is spreading devotion ( called as Bhakti in Sanskrit) towards Lord Narayan or Vishnu. He carries a musical instrument called as veena and plays it while singing the glory of Lord Narayan. He is very dear to Lord Narayan and out of supreme compassion and through the will of Lord Vishnu, He has written a book called as the Narad Bhakti Sutra which literally translates to " The Key to Devotion as by Narad".

Please don't get puzzled as to how this religious book will be helpful to you. Actually it is a very simple guide for people in all age brackets, profession, gender, religion, nationality caste or creed. It is the universal guide to connect with God while living in the world and facing all challenges of life. Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa, a great Indian mystic has categorically stated that for current times, the Path of Devotion (Bhakti Yoga) is apt for attaining Self-Realization. This is so because, nowadays the human body and mind are riddled with weakness, disease and restlessness. It is quite a challenge to do meditation, yoga, knowledge studies etc. However, Bhakti Yoga is the most suitable as it is feasible for everyone irrespective of his capability. But then the question comes, how to do Bhakti Yoga ? Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa recommends Narad Bhakti Sutra as very good guide for the same.

So what do we gain by reading Narad Bhakti Sutra ?  Firstly, you will be glad to know that even in your existing present condition, you can start practicing Bhakti Yoga right away ! Secondly, you will be able to apply the right principles and methods for following this path. Thirdly, you will feel immensely relieved to know that you can practice Bhakti Yoga throughout your life without disturbing anything whatsoever in your life. Aren't you excited and eager already to read this wonderful book ?

So let us briefly understand this book. Sage Narad has written this book in just 84 verses. These 84 verses can be grouped in 9 chapters as follows
  1. Definition of  Bhakti.
  2. Importance of renunciation and self-surrender.
  3. Exemplars of Divine Love.
  4. Bhakti as the highest goal of human life.
  5. Suggestions on how to practice Divine Love.
  6. Importance of seeking holy company.
  7. Difference between preparatory and Supreme Devotion.
  8. Forms of Divine Love.
  9. Practice of ethical virtues and worship of God.
An essence of the book can be briefed as below:
Bhakti is intense love for God. Giving up all other refuge, the Bhakta or Devotee takes refuge in God. Bhakti is greater than Karma, greater than Gyana (Knowledge), greater than meditation, because Bhakti itself is its result, because Bhakti is both the means and the end (fruit). The principal cause of Bhakti is the mercy of a great (or free) soul.  Bhakti is the easiest way of worship. It is its own proof and does not require any other. Its nature is peace and perfect bliss.  Bhakti never seeks to injure anyone or anything not even the popular modes of worship. Merging the trinity of Love, Lover, and Beloved, worship God as His eternal servant, His eternal bride — thus love is to be made unto God. That love is highest which is concentrated upon God. When a man loves God so much, his forefathers rejoice, the gods dance, and the earth gets a Master! To such lovers there is no difference of caste, sex, knowledge, form, birth, or wealth. Giving up all other thoughts, the whole mind should day and night worship God. Thus being worshipped day and night, He reveals Himself and makes His worshippers feel Him.

There are many books that explain Narad Bhakti Sutra in details. But the highly recommended is " Narad Bhakti Sutras" by Swami Bhuteshananda, published by Adwaita Ashram, Kolkata, India. (ISBN:9788175051997).

Ho-o-ponopono

Ho-o-ponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of forgiveness and reconciliation. Ho-o-ponopono is a Hawaiian word that means
  • Correction
  • Mental cleansing
  • To put things in order or place
Traditional Hawaiian healers have been practicing traditional Ho-o-ponopono  for members of the community.  However modern versions are performed within the family by a family elder, or by the individual alone. Hawaiians believe that the sins of the father will fall upon the children. If a child is sick, the parents are suspected of quarreling or misconduct. In addition to sickness, social disorder could cause sterility of land or other disasters. Harmony could be restored only by confession and apology.

In 1976 Morrnah Simeona, regarded as a healing priest adapted the traditional Ho-o-ponopono of family mutual forgiveness to the social realities of the modern day. So this practice can be followed to solve a general problem  outside the family and can also be done individually as a psycho-spiritual self-help rather than group process.

Ho-o-ponopono is about looking within ourselves for debts, errors or blocks in our subconscious mind that replay as problems, judgments, putdowns and all kinds of other problems. It is believed that when we say sorry it is taking 100% responsibility for whatever is going on in our lives. Chanting mantras and asking for forgiveness is the way where we are accepting that the problem is within us. We pray to the Almighty to convert our  unpleasant memory, debt, block, problem to nothing. When the Divine converts the block or memory to nothing, we return back to our original state, which is Zero or clarity. Only in the clarity state we can get inspiration and whatever is perfect for us. When we will look inside of ourselves, only then we be able to solve the world's problem.

When we do  Ho-o-ponopono, we ask the Divine to remove the faults from our subconscious mind and soul. When we bring peace to us, only then we will be able to bring peace in the world. We need to work on the way we perceive people all around us on a daily basis.  Ho-o-ponopono corrects, restores and maintains good relationships among family members and with their gods or God by getting to the causes and sources of trouble. Usually the most senior member of the family conducts it. He or she gathers the family together. If the family is unable to work through a problem, they turn to a respected outsider.

The process begins with prayer. A statement of the problem is made, and the transgression discussed. Family members are expected to work problems through and cooperate, not "hold fast to the fault". One or more periods of silence may be taken for reflection on the entanglement of emotions and injuries. Everyone's feelings are acknowledged. Then confession, repentance and forgiveness take place. Everyone releases each other, letting go. They cut off the past , and together they close the event with a ceremonial feast which is  symbolic of the release.

Learn Ho-o-ponopono from a reliable source in your locality. You can also learn it online through courses offered by Ho-o-ponopono practitioners. It is simple and easy to learn. Do try Ho-o-ponopono and see positive changes in your and your family's life.

  3. Earn a bachelor's degree: Almost all corporate trainers have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, while some have advanced graduate degrees. Consider earning a bachelor's degree in a field related to education and training or the area of business in which you hope to become a trainer. Common bachelor's degrees for corporate trainers include human resources, business administration, organizational management, educational psychology and education.
  4. Work in human resources or education: If you're interested in transitioning to a role as a corporate trainer from a different field, you'll want to ensure you have or can develop the skills necessary to perform the job. It's easiest for people who already work in education or human resources to transition into the corporate training field, since there's a considerable amount of overlap between those roles, but anyone with experience in a business field can find training and make that career move.
  5. Develop public speaking skills: One of the most important skills for a corporate trainer is public speaking. Most trainers work with sizable groups and must be able to communicate clearly to multiple people at once. Consider taking courses in public speaking, volunteering your time for an organization in a role that requires public speaking or joining a club dedicated to practicing and refining public speaking skills.
  6. Select a work environment: Consider the environment in which you'd most like to work. Some companies, particularly large corporations, hire in-house trainers who manage orientations, professional development and other training sessions for all employees. Other corporate trainers work for consulting firms that companies hire to perform training for their employees. Finally, some corporate trainers work for themselves as freelancers. Companies hire freelance corporate trainers in much the same way they do consulting firms.
  7. Complete certification: Consider earning a certificate in corporate training. While it's not a requirement for the field, it can help set you apart from other applicants. Three of the major certifying agencies include the American Society for Training and Development, the International Society for Performance Improvement and the Association for Talent Development.
  8. Apply for jobs: Apply for jobs in your chosen industry and work environment. Consider reaching out directly to companies in addition to looking for job postings online or seeking open position information from your professional network.
  9. Seek professional development: Once you've secured a position as a corporate trainer, you should strive to continue your own professional development. Seek out training opportunities to stay abreast of developments in the field of education and training besides your specific industry.
Work environment for corporate trainers
Most corporate trainers work in business headquarters or other office-like environments. In-house trainers that work for one specific company usually go to the same office every day to perform their work. Consultant trainers and freelance trainers might work locally for various businesses in their city or area, or they might travel extensively to visit companies all over the country or world.

Skills marketable in this field include having a global awareness and how to effectively communicate news to the world.
To qualify for becoming IR, one must do a Masters in International Relations from a reputed University.

A graduate degree is a prerequisite in the sphere of international affairs. Recruiters expect their new hires to have not only cross-cultural experience but also cross-disciplinary skills. Among different graduate programs, a Masters in International Relations would be the most relevant, helping give students both the skills and experience necessary.

Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the program, a master’s in international relations will open the doors to a wide range of international relations careers. It not only allows students to gain expertise across a wide set of disciplines including languages, humanities, economics, politics and business, among others, but also to gain transferable professional skills including writing, quantitative and qualitative analysis, planning and organization and cross-cultural awareness. Joint degrees in business or law can also serve you well in such positions. In addition to Masters degree, following the below will help substantially.
  1. Do some international relations career research: Due to the differing focuses and specializations of international relations programs offered by universities, it is necessary to do in-depth research before sending out an application. Career research needs to be done even earlier than program research, as choosing a program which resonates with your interests and career goals should form a crucial part of your career strategy. One useful resource for conducting program research into international relations careers would be the website of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA.org).
  2. Find international relations internships: If you are a first time job seeker in the international affairs sector or a career switcher, then international relations internships or volunteering work with an organization could be a good place to start. Internships offer several advantages: you can get insights into and an understanding of a particular career field, form a network for your future job search, raise your visibility and get access to unadvertised job opportunities. Organizations like the UN, the European Union, international NGOs, and multinational corporations all have annual internship programs for graduate students or recent graduates.
  3. Gain international experience and learn a foreign language: In addition to technical skills, recruiters in the international relations arena look at candidates’ international experience, cross-cultural awareness and language skills. A proven ability to work well in cross-cultural teams, evidence of an international mind-set, field experience in developing countries, and fluency in a foreign language will definitely help you in your search for international relations careers.
  4.  Use your business networking skills: One of the best platforms to apply your business networking skills would be relevant events or conferences. If you decide to pursue a Masters in International Relations, then remember to network with your professors; the best practitioners in the sector who can help you land your first job and send you along your way to your perfect international relations career.

Career in Biomechatronics

Career in Biomechatronics - Jupiter Knowledge

Biomechatronics is the merging of man with machine. It is an interdisciplinary field encompassing biology, neurosciences, mechanics, electronics and robotics. Biomechatronic scientists attempt to make devices that interact with human muscle, skeleton, and nervous systems with the goals of assisting or enhancing human motor control that can be lost or impaired by trauma, disease or birth defects.  Biomechatronic devices encompass a wide range of applications from the development of prosthetic limbs to engineering solutions concerning respiration, vision, and the cardiovascular system. Biomechatronics mimics how the human body works. Any biomechatronic system has four types of components which are as following:
  • Biosensor:  It detects the user's "intentions". This information can come from the user's nervous and/or muscle system.
  • Mechanical Sensor: It measures information about the device (such as limb position, applied force and load) and relate to the biosensor and/or the controller. These are mechanical devices such as force meters and accelerometers.
  • Controller: It interfaces the user's nerve or muscle system and the device. It relays and/or interprets intention commands from the user to the actuators of the device . It also relays and/or interprets feedback information from the mechanical and biosensors to the user. The controller also monitors and controls the movements of the biomechatronic device.
  • Actuator: It is an artificial muscle that produces force or movement. The actuator can be a motor that aids or replaces the user's native muscle depending upon whether the device is orthotic or prosthetic.
The demand for biomechatronic devices are at an all-time high and show no signs of slowing down. With increasing technological advancement in recent years, biomechatronic researchers have been able to construct prosthetic limbs that are capable of replicating the functionality of human appendages. Despite the demand, however, biomechatronic technologies struggle within the healthcare market due to high costs and lack of implementation into insurance policies.

There are very few Universities in the world that offer courses in Biomechatronics. Students aspiring to specialize in this field do many courses in the following fields:
  • Mechatronics Engineering ( Degree and Masters Level)
  • Biomedical Engineering ( Degree and Masters Level)
  • Robotics Engineering ( Degree and Masters Level)
There are many prestigious Universities such as MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) that have groups dedicated to academics and research in the field of Biomechatronics.

Biomechatronics professionals can work in various areas such as medical device design and manufacturing,  research and development, patient rehabilitation centres, geriatric care, specialized hospitals and prosthetic providers for people with physical and mental disabilities.
